Sunday 13th November - REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

Posted by trinityromford on November 10, 2016 at 10:50 AM

10-30am Revd David Jebb – All Age Worship

PRAYER Life giving God, in whose presence there is an abundance of hope and a plentitude of grace, grant that we may build cimmunities of hospitality where bread is shared, forgiveness offered and justice proclaimed. And so as our lives together are shaped by your love, give us the grace to share the freedom that is ours in Christ, that others may taste and see the goodness of your kingdom. AMEN

At 11am – ACT OF REMEMBRANCE – (all stand)

Minister: Let us remember before God those who have died in the service of their country, all those who have lived and died in the service of humanity, especially those known to us and whose memory we treasure.

A member of the Congregation: They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them or the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.

ALL:    WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

God save our gracious Queen,

Long live our noble Queen!

God save the Queen:

Send her victorious,

Happy and glorious,

Long to reign over us,

God save the Queen.

Thy choicest gifts in store

On her be pleased to pour;

Long may she reign:

May she defend our laws,

And ever give us cause

To sing with heart and voice,

God save the Queen.

MATTHEW 5 v

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he sat down his disciples came to him.

Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying;

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
