Trinity Methodist Church - Romford

About Me

I am a pensioner and underwent an operation to remove a benign tumour in January this year.On Friday,I finish a six and a half week course of radiotherapy..I feel fit, well and happier than I have been in recent years.I somewhat lost my faith in 1968 when my mum died at the age of 50 from breast cancer:but now feel that the Higher Authority has been looking out for me these last few months and am beginning to feel the need to attend the church again.

I enjoy homely things - cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, crosswords, scrabble etc.I also like strolling in the local parks, countryside and when I can get there, the coast.I like to sit in the sun and watch the birds and squirrels.I love to hear people laugh.especially children

My profile picture was taken in Crete five years ago when I was 60 years old.I have no recent photos as I am usually alone with no-one to take any.But I plan on improving my social life as soon as the after effects of my treatment fade (hopefully in about 4 weeks time) by joining some social clubs - maybe a stitch and bitch group,a perky pensioners club -whatever I can find locally.I do not have transport and rely on buses and trains.

I don't really know what else to say.Maybe I'll add to this at a later date.:)

Hope you are all well.My confidence took a bit of a knock last week when I started to veer to the right when coming home.I was told by the physiotherapist, prior to being discharged from Queens, that I tended to "wander) to the right and that when going out to make sure that the road was on my left.I had not found that I was "wandering"until that day last week and now I am hesitating before venturing further than my front garden.I hope to regain my confidence soon and send a little prayer for His help.My final appointment with the radiotheray unit is on the 27th May - fingers crossed.

Hello Gillian, thank you for providing some info on yourself and thank God for you getting through your recent health problems, may he Bless you and Keep you in the coming weeks as you find out whether your radiotherapy has been successful. Would you like to contact me and tell me which area you live in and if it is fairly local to Trinity I may be able ,to put you in touch with some clubs you find of interest. For your information, I too lost my faith some years ago following a serious car accident but attending Trinity has helped me refind The Lord and many friends too.
